Biad Chili Company is known for being a leader in the chile industry. From its inception nearly 50 years ago, this family owned company has strived to provide excellent service while maintaining hometown service. With over 140,000 square feet of processing facility this company has certainly grown from its humble beginnings in Hatch, New Mexico.
As immigrants from Italy, the Biad family originally lived in Brooklyn, New York. With a desire to take hold of the American Dream, they moved to the Hatch Valley where they began farming. Now as third generation owners, brothers Mike and Chris Biad are proud of their heritage. Mike and Chris have most recently expanded the company to include flame roasted, frozen New Mexico Green Chile.
Biad Chili Products is open to the public as well as to wholesale customers. If you are traveling in the Mesilla Valley during New Mexico chile season, there is a good chance that the delicious aroma you smell is coming from Biad Chili Products. Feel free to stop by anytime and experience some good old fashioned Italian hospitality and sample our latest chile flavors and New Mexico chile recipes. We begin operating around the first of August.
Our New Mexico green chile season begins with the long-standing relationships that we have built with our farmers over the years. In some cases, the farmers we work with have been in the Hatch and Mesilla Valleys for generations. The growers we work with, on our own farms are dedicated to meet our stringent quality specifications for color, texture, size and heat level. And just to be sure, we have a full time Crop Production Manager who monitors our chile crops from planting through harvest, which we hand pick ourselves. Our chile farms are located in the Hatch and Mesilla Valleys producing the fines products of New Mexico.
