NuMex Big Jim was released by Dr. Nakayama in 1975 and is in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest. It is the largest New Mexican pod type. The peppers are long, thick meated and smooth. The heat level from plant to plant varies greatly. It has become one of the most popular varieties for home gardens and making rellenos. The NuMex Big Jim is considered by us to be a medium-hot chile.
